Therapy for stress & anxiety serving Caledon and virtually all of Ontario.
For children, teens, and adults struggling with life changes, a rough patch, or who simply need a trusting ear to listen.
“It’s ok not to be okay, but it’s not okay to stay that way.”
Hi, I’m Lisa
I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist in Ontario. Growing up I lived in a home that had its challenges; addiction, chronic disease, and depression, and as an Italian family we had to keep all of our struggles hidden to the world around us. Having persevered through this, I was drawn to a career that would help others overcome their difficulties.
I am a mother of two, a wife, sister, friend and daughter. I enjoy going out for a nice dinner, but love coming home to curl up on the couch under a warm blanket. Family continues to be a huge part of my life, but I do not let it define me. In addition to being a therapist, I am also a teacher with a specialist in Special Education.
Therapy & Counselling Services
Are you feeling overwhelmed by changes in your life that are causing you to be more anxious or stressed? Or, maybe you’re looking to find a balance between work, home, kids, and yourself.
Much of my work involves supporting teens, men, and women, to guide them through challenging times in their lives. I love that clients often reach out because they need a space where they can talk through what they’re going through and don’t want to feel like a burden or add stress to their friends and family, and that is ok too!

FAQs
-
If you are asking this question, it is a good indication that there is a part of you that is ready or at least considering some sort of change. Therapy is most productive once a person realizes that personal challenges are not going to be overcome by repeating the same patterns.
-
Therapy is a relational process between people, each of whom brings unique knowledge to the conversation. Together, we will identify your goals. Our time together will be an interactive process focused on insight and self- awareness, problem-solving and guidance. I will ask questions and make observations and suggestions based on my experience and training. We will work to find the best path for you.
-
The difference is talking to someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally. I can help you approach your situation in a new way ~ teach you new skills, provide you with coping strategies, listen to you without judgment and help you listen to yourself. Also, counselling is completely confidential, so you won’t have to worry about people finding out how you are feeling or what you are going through, and can avoid burdening your friends/family that are experiencing their own difficulties.
-
Everyone’s experiences are different. The number of sessions you will need depends on your goals and individualized needs which we will review regularly. Sessions are typically booked once every two weeks. We can discuss the frequency and duration of our sessions together. Some clients come for short periods of time to help with a certain issue they are dealing with, and others will continue to come long after they “feel better”. While the relationship between the psychotherapist and the client is critical to a positive outcome, your readiness and commitment to do the work necessary for change will determine your ultimate satisfaction with the process. It is of the utmost importance to me that you feel safe, supported, and understood as you undertake this journey. The rest is up to you!

Many of my clients live with other family members, roommates, or a partner. Here are common solutions to help:
Shut your bedroom door and turn on some light background music/white noise;
Sit in your car for the session, and have a headset for even better sound; or
Ask your family/partner/roommates for some privacy and to go for a walk or drive while you are in session.
-
Yes - Online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, with many added benefits such as increased accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and getting help from the comfort of your home.
-
I typically work evenings and Saturday mornings.
Mondays to Fridays 5pm-9pm
Saturdays 9am-12pm
-
My practice is virtual and is based out of Caledon but I provide services to anyone living in Ontario, specifically focusing on the Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo, Guelph, and London areas virtually.

The fit between you and your therapist is one of the most important factors in determining how positive the outcome of your mental health treatment will be. Therefore, it’s important that you not only find someone who specializes in the areas that you need support but is someone you feel comfortable with! Finding the right fit is so important. I always encourage all new clients to reach out to at least three therapists before deciding which counsellor you feel most comfortable with.
